Benefits of Box Lacrosse
Benefits of Box Lacrosse:
-
Speed
With a confined playing area, everything moves faster—players must handle pressure, make quick decisions, and be precise with passes and shots. A 30-second shot clock keeps the game in constant motion. -
Less Downtime
Missed shots and passes that hit the boards stay in play, reducing stoppages and keeping the action going. -
More Touches, More Engagement.
Fewer players on the floor means more touches for everyone. Players take on both offensive and defensive roles, increasing participation and keeping the game exciting. -
Skill Development.
Smaller goals and no long defensive sticks force players to rely on finesse and technique, improving their fundamentals and making them more versatile players.
What Equipment Do You Need for Naptown Box Lacrosse League?
For all players except goalies, you can use the same gear you wear for field lacrosse. However, it's highly recommended that all participants wear rib pads. If your son doesn’t already have large arm guards, those are also strongly recommended.
Goalie Equipment:
Goalies require a completely different set of gear, as shown in the picture on the right. This equipment can be quite expensive, but for league play at Naptown Box Lacrosse, we will provide goalie equipment on game days. Be sure to bring your own helmet, athletic supporter, and goalie stick.
